GutCheck announced today that they have hired Chief Research Officer Renee Smith, effective October 19, 2015. In this new position, Smith will be responsible for leading the development of innovative agile market research solutions for GutCheck’s growing list of F2000 clients. Smith comes to GutCheck from Kantar, where she served as the chief research officer for five years.

At Kantar, Smith headed up a series of initiatives to “reimagine research” by leveraging automation, statistical models, mobile and other technology, and non-survey data sources to bring insights to Kantar’s clients. Along the way, Smith also worked to ensure the consistent delivery of key business insights. She served as Kantar’s representative to the Google Consumer Surveys Advisory Board and sat on the Kantar Innovation Board. Smith holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from Michigan State University as well as a B.A. in journalism from Central Michigan University.
